St. Andrews Bay, adjoining intercoastal waters and offshore Gulf of Mexico
This summers fishing season has been a great one so far and it may be the best one we have seen in a long time. Lots of BIG kings and plentiful Dolphin (Mai Mai) in close to shore. Red Snapper right off shore.
The weather has been beautiful. We needed the rain and we got it. We always have plenty of sun shine.
Trolling has produced King and Spanish Mackerel, Bonito, and Dolphin.
Bottom Fishing has produced Big Red Snapper, Amberjacks and Grouper as the larger fish and Triggers and B-liners as the primary smaller fish.
For now, the larger Game fish are being caught close to shore. Bottom and Trolling off shore has been very productive. Large Kings and Dolphin are the hot ticket for in shore and off shore trolling.
The fishing only gets better from here. As the Gulf waters continue to warm and with the bait fish growing thicker and thicker, WATCH FOR THE BIG ONES TO BE MOVING IN CLOSE. The net ban has really made a big difference in our waters. Large and small fish alike are very plentiful.
Check out the fishing calendar on this site. It will help you make plans to come fish when your kind of fishing is hot. Fall is our favorite time to fish and it is just around the corner.
Capt. Mike has spotted several Large Sharks and Baracuda while bottom fishing. They are not on the menu to eat but to see them and catch them is fun. Lots of Sea Turtles around right now and they are not shy about coming up to take a look at you.
We don't mind answering questions about fishing. Drop us a note if we can help you. Our first love is fishing and our second is talking about it so drop us a note or call anytime.
The fall fishing report is only going to get better if that is possible.
PS. We would like to remind all you folks that Born to Boogie
fishing gets progressively better all through the Summer and Fall. Come
to think of it, Winter isn't bad either.
So come on down.
